Entrepreneur-turned-politician Vivek Ramaswamy, working alongside Tesla CEO Elon Musk, has taken on leadership roles in the newly created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Their primary focus: drastically reducing federal jobs across the United States.
Speaking on November 14 at an event in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, Indian-American Ramaswamy laid out his ambitious plan. “Elon Musk and I are ready to remove millions of unelected federal bureaucrats entrenched in Washington, D.C. This is how we’ll save the country,” he proclaimed.
Ramaswamy praised Musk’s bold approach to addressing government inefficiency. “Elon doesn’t bring a chisel; he brings a chainsaw,” he quipped. “We’re going to tackle the bureaucracy head-on—it’s going to be quite the journey.”
Rejecting notions of American decline, Ramaswamy shared an optimistic vision of the nation’s future. “Many compare us to the Roman Empire in its final days, squabbling over diminishing resources. I refuse to accept that narrative. After last week’s developments, I believe America is rising again. Our greatest days are ahead,” he said.
He described a reimagined America where success stems from hard work, merit, and freedom of expression. “In this renewed nation, our children will grow up knowing they can achieve success through dedication, regardless of their background,” Ramaswamy declared.
To ensure transparency, Ramaswamy and Musk announced plans to host weekly livestream updates—dubbed “Dogecasts”—on the Department of Government Efficiency’s progress. “Our mission is to shrink government and remain fully accountable to the American people,” Ramaswamy stated.
He emphasized the department’s aim to align government operations with the ideals of America’s Founders. “Elon and I are dedicated to fulfilling the mandate entrusted to us by President Trump,” he added.
Ramaswamy criticized federal agencies like the FDA and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, citing their bureaucratic inefficiencies as obstacles to innovation and economic growth. “These agencies often overlook the stifling effect of their processes on creativity and costs,” he said.
Calling the initiative a “modern-day Manhattan Project,” Ramaswamy stressed the urgency of addressing government bloat. “We’re assembling the nation’s brightest minds to tackle this challenge. Our objective is clear: eliminate waste, save taxpayer money, and restore true self-governance,” he concluded.
