National Language Training Program Organized at NBPGR, Pusa, During Golden Jubilee Year

The National Language Training Program was organized at the auditorium of NBPGR, Pusa, from February 6 to 8, 2025, during the Golden Jubilee Year of the establishment of the NBPGR institute of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Pusa.

Representatives from more than 100 ICAR institutions across the country were invited to this national program. Additionally, over 30 distinguished scholars from across India were invited to deliver lectures and conduct training sessions. The program covered various topics such as the current status and preservation of languages, endangered languages, language reinforcement, various aspects of Hindi as the official language, its promotion in government sectors, AI-based translation, and standardization of Hindi spelling.

Apart from official language officers, administrative and finance service officers were also invited to participate in the training. Sessions were conducted on the working methodology of the Parliamentary Committee on Official Language, its inspection process, and the newly introduced questionnaire.

Several distinguished guests were present during various sessions of the event. Former Rajya Sabha MP and thinker, Prof. Rakesh Sinha, conducted a special session on ‘The Role of Native Languages in Nation Building’, where he elaborated on the historical Netarhat Residential School in Bihar-Jharkhand and its significant role in addressing social disparities.

The Vice-Chancellor of IARI, Dr. Srinivas Rao, expressed his gratitude to all participants for making the event a success. Other eminent personalities who attended the sessions included senior journalist Rahul Dev, Prof. Kumud Sharma, Prof. Girish Nath Jha, renowned poet and ghazal writer Shri Lakshmi Shankar Vajpayee, and former Vice-Chancellor Premchand Patanjali. A special session on Ethical Values and Gender Issues in Governance was chaired by senior journalist Mrs. Sarjana Sharma, with expert speaker Suman Agarwal shedding light on ethical and gender-related concerns in the government system.

On the second day of the event, a poetic evening was organized, featuring renowned international poet Shri Lakshmi Shankar Vajpayee, along with Prof. Rahman Mussavir, Ana Dehlavi, Shafiq Abidi, Anas Faizi, Sanjeev Mukesh, Tanoj Dadhich, and Manisha Saxena, who captivated the audience with their performances.

The inauguration of the training program was conducted by Assistant Director General, Dr. Devendra Kumar Yadav, while the Director and Vice-Chancellor of ICAR-IARI, Pusa, served as the Chief Guest at the closing session. Certificates of participation were awarded to all attendees by Dr. Gyanendra Pratap Singh, Director of NBPGR. The overall coordination and management of the event were carried out by Chief Administrative Officer (Senior Grade), Shri Suresh Kumar Gajmoti, and Deputy Director of Official Language, Shri Ashutosh Kumar.
